Starting at 8 p.m., an original multimedia musical paying tribute to the borough of Queens will take place at the Free Synagogue of Flushing, located at 41-60 Kissena Boulevard. “Let’s Hear it for Queens” will be directed by Paul L. Johnson, with Amanda Montoni providing the choreography. The show tells the story of the borough’s evolution from the early 1600s through the present, with highlights including a salute to some of the world-famous entertainers with roots in Queens, a series of monologues that bring to life memories of several individuals who remember what Queens was like way back when, and a special tribute to the Free Synagogue of Flushing Community Theatre Group, celebrating its own 40th anniversary this season.
