As the general manager of the Offi ce of Business Diversity and Civil Rights at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, she has been successful in ensuring meaningful participation of MWSBEs in all Port Authority business activities including the World Trade Center (WTC) Redevelopment project. She has delivered innovative business solutions and programs to support the growth and success of small companies, including opening a Business Resource Center near the WTC site where fi rms are provided free and valuable workshops in addition to one-on-one consultation services. As a result of her efforts, over the last fi ve years MWSBEs have garnered over $2 billion in contracts, which helped create over $2.7 billion in regional economic activity, supported 10,540 new jobs and provided $780 million in wages. Perich is an active member of several organizations in New York and New Jersey that foster, support and promote minority and women entrepreneurs. She earned her bachelor of science Degree from New York University Stern School of Business and a masters degree in public administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. JEANNIE LAI Owner Precious Window and Door Corp. Jeannie Lai runs the Precious Window and Door company by herself. She established her business in 2003 and her primary service is to install windows and doors for residential houses and commercial buildings. Her vendor, Crystal Windows, supplies her with windows and doors and they have built a very good business relationship. For the past 10 years, Lai has developed a trustworthy relationship with many customers and they keep coming back to her for advice and services. She always goes out of her way to help her customers and provides them with the best services which exceed their expectations. For example, after Sandy, one of the common problems was window damage. Lai made her customers her fi rst priority and resolved this problem immediately for many families. She is very passionate about her job and really enjoys what she is doing. LINDA GISONDA President Tec-Crete Transit Mix Corp. Linda Gisonda comes from a long line of concrete ready-mix entrepreneurs. She made her fi rst inroads in the ready-mix industry when she joined her family’s business at an early age. She is the president and CEO of Tec- Crete Transit Mix, the company she founded in 1998. Tec-Crete has worked in major infrastructure projects, including terminal expansions at JFK and La Guardia, Citi Field, and the MTA East-Side Access. Gisonda was raised in Searingtown, Long Island, and attended Nassau Community College. She is married to Michael R. Gisonda and has three children (four including Roxy, her English bull dog). Her passions include cooking, entertaining and spending time with her family. Gisonda is looking forward to the arrival of her fi rst grandson this summer. TERRI OSBORNE Director of Culture & Tourism for Borough President Helen Marshall Terri Osborne is the director of Culture & Tourism for Borough President Helen Marshall. Osborne serves as a liaison between government, cultural, historic and citywide organizations, assisting with funding, marketing, program and event planning requests, among others. Most recently, she collaborated with the citywide Landmarks 50 Committee, Historic Districts Council, and the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission to create the MARKING SPACES exhibit at the Panorama of New York City at the Queens Museum. The exhibit highlights the 109 Historic Districts within NYC and is a kick off to the 50th anniversary of the signing of the NYC Landmarks Preservation Law that happens in 2015. She presently serves on advisory boards for Queens College, Latimer House Museum and the Louis Armstrong House Museum. Before joining the borough president’s staff, Osborne was director of marketing and tourism for the Queens Economic Development Corporation. There, she created Queens – A Taste of the World food tasting event and the Queens Restaurant Week. Both are ongoing annual programs. Her past experience includes: executive director of the Queens Council on the Arts, where she nominated the No. 7 Train for inclusion as one of the 16 National Millennium Trails in the United States designated by the White House; deputy director, Flushing Town Hall, where she planned the fi rst full season of performing and visual arts programs; and project coordinator for the Brooklyn Bridge Centennial Celebration. Honors include the Queens Borough President’s Declaration of Honor for advocacy efforts for artists and organizations at the city and state levels; Rosemary Gunning Award for support of women’s rights and the President’s Award from the Association of Teachers of Social Studies/ United Federation of Teachers for the development of the Flushing Remonstrance Curriculum.
