Queens Health Network senior vice president Ann M. Sullivan, MD; Queens Hospital Center executive director Julius Wool; QHC chief, Division of Geriatrics Dr. Clifford Feiner; QHC director of medicine Lambert King, MD; QHC deputy executive director Robert Rossdale; and a former member of QHC’s Community Advisory Board (CAB), Audrey Orr, all participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the expansion. “With every new project and refurbishment, Queens Hospital Center validates its status as a major community hospital serving neighborhoods across the borough,” said Sullivan. “We are serving a borough that is growing rapidly, along with an elderly population that is living longer and in need of comprehensive healthcare services. The new Geriatric Clinic is staffed with several board-certified physicians and other professionals who can address their individual concerns in order to optimize their quality of life and functional ability.” The $4 million Geriatric Clinic was funded through a portion of a HEAL grant and incorporates 4,500-squarefeet of space, which is nearly double in size of the existing clinic; an activity room for patients; six oversized exam rooms; physician consult rooms; and additional space for nurses, social workers, and patient care associates. Queens Hospital Center’s Senior Care Program is available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. QHC also has two geriatric off site facilities that serve its patient population: The South Queens Multi-Service Center at 114-02 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in Jamaica, and The Robert Couche Senior Center at 137-57 Farmers Boulevard in Springfield Gardens.
