THE LEG THAT HAD THE PAIN
BY MARIAN NEMETSKY
This is the leg that had the pain.
This is the foot
That lay in the leg that had the pain.
This is the test,
That check’d the foot,
That lay in the leg that had the pain.
This was the quest,
That ordered the test,
That check’d the foot,
That lay in the leg that had the pain.
This is the clot,
That it was not.
That was the quest,
That ordered the test,
That check’d the foot,
That lay in the leg that had the pain
This is the scan to check the brain,
That it’s not a stroke.
That’s not a clot,
That was the quest,
That ordered the test,
That check’d the foot,
That lay in the leg that had the pain.
This is the shoe with a two-inch heel,
That should have been the final deal,
That made her say, “Are they for real?”
That negated the scan to check the brain,
That it’s not a clot.
That was the quest that performed the test,
That check’d the foot,
That lay in the leg that had the pain.
This is the story yet to end,
That she cannot just pretend
That the shoe with the two-inch heel,
That should have been the final deal,
That made her say, “Are they for real?”
That negated the scan to check the brain,
That it’s not a stroke,
That’s not a clot.
That was the quest,
That performed the test,
That checked the foot,
That lay in the leg that had the pain.

Tuesday night after the Yan-kee-
Boston wildcard game
I took my walk. It was 11:30
PM. I walked all around my floor
in the hallway--it felt good walking
on carpet. I noticed a key in one of
my neighbor’s door lock. Being the
caring person that I am, I wanted to
let them know that the key was in the
doorknob; however, it was late. I did
not hear any noise in the apartment
and presumed that they were sleep-ing.
I thought that when they wake up
in the morning they would be upset
because they couldn’t find the key.
I decided to go downstairs to
security and I asked them to call
and let the person living there
know that the key was in the door.
Anyone walking by could walk into
their apartment. The next morning,
I passed by the door and the key
was gone, thank you security. I do
not know who lives in the apart-ment
and they don’t know me,
unless they read my article.
The other day I had lunch with
my daughter and granddaughter at
Buffy’s. We were all asked to show
our vaccine cards. I thought it was
great. And lunch was wonderful
as usual too. Thank you, Buffy, for
helping us be safe.
Our outdoor pools have been
closed for the season, but our indoor
pool is open year-round. Winter is
coming, let’s all keep warm.
The other day I went to the
maintenance office and asked if
they could send someone to put
new weather stripping in my win-dows.
The gentleman in the front
said they could come the follow-ing
day. The maintenance person
arrived exactly on time and did a
fantastic job putting in the weath-er
stripping. I want to thank the
maintenance department for such
efficient and great work.
Yesterday I was in the eleva-tor
with three other people. I
didn’t know any of them. We
all had masks on. I asked each
one who their favorite article
writer was. They all said the
same thing: “Some guy named
Bud Bank.” No one knew who
I was (I think).
That about sums it up folks! See
you all next month. ~ Bud
