main theme of the movie. The zany assortment
of actors and other professionals involved in
the production added to an interesting story.
Dialogue, music and performances make for a
film worth discussing.

“Call Your Grandmother”
Returning for Second Season
BY JILL DAVIS
NST resident Ellin
Grodsky and her BFF
Rita Kaye will be back
for Season 2 of the hit
podcast series, “Call Your
Grandmother.” How much
of a hit was it? It ranked
as the #2 podcast this past
year (don’t know what #1
must have been).
Those who listened to
the show will definitely
remember how funny they
are…the “Lucy and Ethel
of Podcasts,” as they’re
now known. They were
such a smash they were
featured on Hoda and
Jenna last spring, and the
duo was recently flown to
Atlanta for an appearance
on the Steve Harvey Show.
The essence (and heart)
of the show is about a
grandmother and her
grandchild who share a
mutual affection and special bond—and
share hilarious stories throughout.
The New York Post probably said it best:
“Mix the senior sass of ‘The Golden Girls’
with the bawdiness of ‘Broad City’ and
the punchy humor of ‘The Marvelous Mrs.
Maisel,’ and you get the new podcast ‘Call
Your Grandmother.’”
But wait, there’s more!
Casting Call for Grandmas
(and their grandkids)
The show is looking for new cast members for
Season 2. Hey, Ellin and Rita can’t do everything!
Ellin says they want “fun grandmas who have a
wonderful relationship with one (or more) of their
grandchildren.”
If you’re interested, you can call Ellin at 718-224-
0347 for more information. Ellin says to call as soon
as possible. Going to Florida for the winter? Don’t
worry, you can be a host remotely.
In the meantime, Season 1 is still available.
Visit iHeart.com/apps to download iHeartRadio
and listen on your favorite device. And if you don’t
know how to sign up, call your grandchild (and have
them listen with you!).
