Gina is a native of Long Island, growing up
in Holbrook with her parents and sister. Gina
currently resides in Port Washington for
over 30 years with her husband, Anthony
and children, Anthony and Christina and
Apollo the dog.
Gina graduated with a bachelor’s degree in
Psychology, in 1989 from St. Joseph’s College
located in Patchogue. Gina attended the
school of Social Work at Adelphi University
located in Garden City and graduated in
May 1993 with a Master’s degree in social
work. In September 1993, she completed

Rachel Demarest Gold has been a Partner at Abrams
Fensterman since 2016 and has worked in the labor
and employment, criminal, government litigation,
and law and policy practice groups.
She started her career as a prosecutor in the Bronx
District Attorney Office assigned to the Trial Division,
prosecuting violent crimes. She worked as General
Counsel in her family’s Brooklyn manufacturing
business, as Special Assistant to the Minority Leader
of the NY State Senate, and then as his Chief of Staff.
She returned to prosecuting in the Office of then-Attorney
General Andrew Cuomo, where she led the
development of a new labor crimes unit.
She has a long history of civic service including:
President, DUMBO Neighborhood Association and
Chair, and Independent Neighborhood Democrats
Executive Board. Gold was honored with a Public
Service Award from the Carroll Gardens Association.

Hiltzik belongs to the Constantinople Armenian
Relief Society (C. A. R. S”) in Bayside. She mentors
elementary school students with the Lawyers
Involved in Kids’ Education (“LIKE”) Program. At
LIKE’s Mentor New York, she serves on the Young
Professionals Advisory Board.

Jennifer Grimaldi Toohey is co-founder/owner of the
Long Island Studio of Music, an in-home music lesson
studio bringing exceptional music instruction on all
instruments and voices to students of all ages from the
comfort of their homes.
As an operatic soprano, Grimaldi Toohey has performed
internationally in Europe and Mexico and regionally
across the United States to high acclaim.
As an educator, Grimaldi Toohey is a highly effective
and highly sought-after voice instructor. A true mentor,
Grimaldi Toohey has extensive experience directing
children’s choirs and is a voice instructor and program
coordinator of the Queens Summer Vocal Institute for
HS singers at Queens College. She helped develop this
program 13 years ago, along with her mentor and longtime
voice teacher Dr. Sherry Overholt for whom she
attributes her love of teaching and singing.

An experienced and respected psychiatrist, Liat
Jarkon graduated from NYIT in 1987 and has been
in private practice for 25 years, specializing in
child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. Jarkon
trained at Zucker Hillside Hospital and Schneider
Children's Hospital of Long Island Jewish Hospital
(now Northwell Health). She received her M.P.H.
from Columbia University.
In 2017, Jarkon joined the NYIT faculty to launch
the Center for Behavioral Health. Jarkon serves
as its director, sparking efforts to speak openly
about mental health, decrease stigma, and offer
hope to members of the campus community. Jarkon
is also a researcher and mentor with a passion for
promoting mental health well-being.
