Kids Need More Virtual Camp is in session
to bring fun and friendship into the
comfort of your home. A typical week has
events like Zumba, gaming, Pictionary,
Princess Surprise and trivia. The pivot
came about at the start of the pandemic in
2020. This non-profi t organization runs
Camp Adventure camp for children with
cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The virtual enhancement was added
to make sure the lives of children dealing
with the illnesses are enhanced. Imagine
the fun for a child stuck at home when
he/she gets to video chat with a Super
Hero or Disney princess. Peer mentoring,
friendly visits and retreats are part of
the robust repertoire here for children
and their siblings. The regular camp

Terrie Magro started the Michael Magro
Foundation aft er her son Michael
passed away from leukemia. Offi cially
founded in 2005, the foundation aims
to honor Michael’s life by bettering the
lives of children with cancer, pediatric
cancer survivors, and their families, as
well as other chronic pediatric illnesses.
Terrie and her team have worked tirelessly
to implement programs and run
fundraising eff orts to help those in need
pay for medical expenses, utility bills,
and so much more, to make their lives
