Gina is a native of Long Island, growing up
in Holbrook with her parents and sister. Gina
currently resides in Port Washington for
over 30 years with her husband, Anthony
and children, Anthony and Christina and
Apollo the dog.
Gina graduated with a bachelor’s degree in
Psychology, in 1989 from St. Joseph’s College
located in Patchogue. Gina attended the
school of Social Work at Adelphi University
located in Garden City and graduated in
May 1993 with a Master’s degree in social
work. In September 1993, she completed

Dr. Tina Funt is board-certified by the American Board
of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy
of Dermatology. She practices medical and pediatric
dermatology and specializes in cosmetic dermatology
in Garden City.
Dr. Funt graduated summa cum laude with a degree in
English Literature from Brooklyn College, where she was
elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She received
her M.D. degree from Downstate Medical School.
Dr. Funt has published many articles in leading medical
journals. Dr. Funt is an attending physician at New York
Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical
Center.
Dr. Funt recently wrote her first novel, The Doctor’s
Secret, telling the story of a young woman growing
up mid-20th century and becoming a doctor when few
women made that choice.

Officer of the Suburban Hospital Alliance
of New York State and its two regional entities, the
Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council and Northern
Metropolitan Hospital Association.

of more than 50 public and not-for-profit hospitals
on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley.
Darwell is a member of the American College of
Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial

Lynette Garcia, Senior Director of Quality Management,
has the ideal skill set to oversee safety and risk
management for Life’s WORC. After working in the
medical field early in her career, she made the switch
to the non-profit world and fell in love.
Lynette joined the Life’s WORC executive team in
2019, overseeing Quality, Compliance and Training.
Since then, she has come to oversee the Facilities
Maintenance and IT departments as well.
In addition to her commitment to Life’s WORC,
Lynette serves on several Inter Agency Council
committees for Quality, Training and IT; and she is
an active member of the University of Delaware’s
Leadership Institute community, which provides
access to thousands of leaders in the IDD field across
the United States and internationally.
