Of course, seeing Beckles’ masterpieces
in person would make the shopping experience
even better. She sometimes sells her
wares at the Queens Craft Brigade, including
at a market on Dec. 1 at Fifth Hammer
Brewery in Long Island City.
“The Queens Craft Brigade is full of
super good people, very good energy
and supportive,” Beckles said. “As for the
table I get to put my products on, I try to
set up in a way that people will touch and
interact with the pieces. I want the space
to be as inviting as possible.”
Not only can handmade dish lovers
choose from Beckles’ wonderful selection
online and in-person, but the artist also
takes commissions. Prices typically range
from $30 to $60 depending on the piece
and shipping. Beckles receives personal
orders through email and Instagram.
“For me, it’s a hobby that I really love
and I feel lucky that people want to pay
for a thing that I do,” Beckles said.
