decided to open an eatery together to
bring a unique concept to their own
neighborhood, which they’ve seen evolve
into a bustling area. Tirado has lived in LIC
since his early 20s, so he’s watched tons
of restaurants and businesses pop up over
the years.
The inspiration for 2 Dive 4’s menu
comes from Tirado’s upbringing and
Christoffersen’s tastes.
“I grew up eating seafood,” Tirado said.
“My dad’s from the coast, and Julie likes
tapas restaurants, so we decided to make
it a tapas restaurant and throw a little fusion

in it: throw some Asian, some Mediterranean
in, and that’s what we built our
menu upon.”
Tirado said that the menu for 2 Dive 4
is still being developed, but it’s hard to
imagine how much better it can get. Already,
2 Dive 4 offers up a wide array of
tasty tapas, entrees and dessert selections
prepared by the restaurant’s executive
chef, Felix Castro.
The ceviche limeno is a must-try; it’s a
light and tasty dish that consists of white
fish, sweet potato, lime vinaigrette and
chips. Another delicious selection is the
spot’s gambas al ajillo, which is made with
prawns, garlic chili sauce, herb crostini
and roasted red piquillo aioli. The tapas
bar boasts other yummy choices like their
kobe burger sliders made with American
kobe, black brioche, sharp cheddar,
