the facility and access to their four kilns.
Aside from actually making the functional
pots, a huge step to Beckles’ process is
getting the pieces home, waiting for the
perfect natural lighting and taking product
photos for her site. Seeing the pictures,
it is no surprise that Beckles’ “first
love” was photography.
“My fiancé coded and built the website
for me, and I take all the photos, so whenever
I have a new round of stuff to put up,
I’ll do a photoshoot in our living room. It’s
very much improvising with some poster
board and window lighting, but it works,”
Beckles said.
