Michael Weisner and Annie Nelson
have New York blood. Nelson grew
up on Long Island and while Weisner
is from Minnesota, his family
has deep roots in New York. The
couple met during their freshman
year at New York University eight
years ago and have been together ever since.
They now both work in Manhattan

at Columbia University and Nelson
works in undergraduate admissions
back at NYU.
“When we were thinking of places to
live after graduating, this made sense as
the first place to look,” Nelson said about
the borough. “My family actually started in
Astoria, and I still have family in Astoria on
both sides. And this was actually the first
apartment that we looked at.”
