Gunman robs offi ce in Jamaica
Police need the public’s help in fi nding
the man who robbed a Jamaica offi ce at
gunpoint last week.
Law enforcement sources said the stickup
occurred at 11:33 a.m. on May 4 at
a management offi ce in the vicinity of
102nd Avenue and Brisbin Street.
Security camera footage obtained from
the scene shows the suspect opening a
front gate, then brandishing a silver fi rearm
while inside the offi ce. Police said he
demanded that the employees show him
where they kept the money.
Th e workers complied with the robber’s
demands and led him to the loot.
Authorities said he subsequently grabbed
$23,000 in cash, as well as the employees’
cellphones, then fl ed in an unknown
direction.
Offi cers from the 103rd Precinct
responded to the incident; there were no
injuries.
Cops described the suspect as a bald,
black man standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall
and weighing 250 pounds; he was last
seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt
and black sneakers.

Senior citizen fatally
struck by car
A 79-year-old man died of his injuries
a day aft er being struck by a car in Kew
Gardens Hills, police reported.
At 9:57 p.m. on May 7, law enforcement
sources said, offi cers from the 107th
Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding
a motor vehicle collision involving a
pedestrian struck on Jewel Avenue near
150th Street. Upon their arrival, offi cers
found 79-year-old Abdul Jamil lying on
the roadway with severe head trauma.
Based on a preliminary investigation
that the NYPD Highway District’s
Collision Investigation Squad conducted,
cops determined that a 31-year-old man
was driving eastbound on Jewel Avenue
in a 2015 Honda Accord.
Police said that, as the driver was moving
across 150th Street with the traffi c
signal in his favor, Jamil began to cross
Jewel Avenue outside the marked crosswalk
and against the pedestrian signal.
Jamil was then struck by the vehicle and
knocked to the pavement.
Th e driver remained on the scene following
the incident.
EMS responded to the scene and transported
Jamil to NewYork-Presbyterian
Queens hospital, where he died on May 8.
No charges have been fi led against the
driver. Th e investigation is ongoing.

Man punches N train
rider in LIC
Police are looking for a man who
punched someone in the face while
boarding a train in Long Island City.
According to police, at 7:30 p.m. on
April 29, the 21-year-old male victim was
getting on an N train at the Queensboro
Plaza subway station when he was shoved
by an unknown individual who was also
boarding the train.
When the victim confronted the suspect
about the shove, authorities said, the
perpetrator punched the victim in the
face. Th e assailant then stepped off of the
train and challenged the victim to a fi ght.
Law enforcement sources said the victim
remained on the N train as the doors
closed. Th e suspect was seen on the platform
as the train left the station.
Police described the suspect as a black
man in his 40s with a mustache and
standing 6 feet tall. He was last seen
wearing a red baseball cap, a red hooded
sweater, a black vest and dark-colored
jeans.

Burglar hits LIC storage site
Cops released on May 5 security camera
footage of a man connected to a recent
burglary at a Long Island City storage
facility.
Law enforcement sources said the
break-in occurred at 4:47 a.m. on April
11 inside the Storage Fox located at 30-46
Northern Blvd.
According to police, the crook on the
video along with two unapprehended
others made their way inside the building
and forced open several storage units,
removing an undetermined amount of
property from within. Th e break-in was
later reported to the 114th Precinct.
Police said the suspect shown in the
video is a man with a light complexion
who was seen wearing a blue-and-black
Kansas City Royals baseball cap, a black
jacket with a red Champion logo on the
back, a black hooded sweatshirt, black
sweatpants and silver sneakers.
Th e video shows the crook walking
to one of the storage units and briefl y
attempting to pry open the door before
walking away.
