Queens Library is an independent, not-for-profit corporation and is not affiliated with any other library system. 18854-6/16 Final 2016 Promenade Night in Great Neck Plaza Scheduled for Wednesday, August 10 The Great Neck Plaza Business Improvement District (BID) and the Village of Great Neck Plaza conclude the Summer 2016 Promenade Series on Wednesday, August 10 (rain date August 11) with a final promenade on Middle Neck Road between Grace Avenue and Maple Drive from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. All residents from Great Neck and neighboring communities are invited to listen to the country sounds of Savannah Sky while enjoying a variety of Great Neck’s fine dining options in a unique outdoor café environment under the stars. Each participating restaurant including Ginos, Burger Village, Muzi and Chez Kama will be offering prix fixe menus or discounted dishes. Additionally, Akbar the Caricaturist will be returning to offer promenade guests free caricatures on a first-come, first-served basis. Savannah Sky, focusing on traditional country, western swing and rockabilly music, will be performing live. Band members include Nina Gordon on vocals and acoustic guitar; Skip Krevens on vocals, electric guitar and pedal steel; Pete Falbo on vocals and bass; and Billy Lang on vocals and percussion. Savannah Sky has been delighting audiences throughout the tri-state area for more than 20 years. The band plays a variety of music from genres including rock, blues, jazz, folk and bluegrass, with a generous helping of rockabilly and western swing in the mix. Their vivacious stage presence over the years has resulted in a unique and exciting show, combining talent and highly professional entertainment. The friendly atmosphere of Great Neck Plaza is the perfect setting to enjoy the best dining and shopping throughout the summer.
