Addabbo Jr., Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, Assemblyman Michael Miller and Councilmember Elizabeth Crowley are hosting a Composting Town Hall to explain the voluntary composting program. DSNY reps will be present to answer questions about the pilot program currently taking place in Glendale, Middle Village and Maspeth. Central Astoria Local Development Coalition Inc. presents its annual Astoria Park Festival from June 26 to 29 at the Astoria Park parking lot. There will be rides, games, food and entertainment. SATURDAY, JUNE 28 Explore the borough’s richest collection of high Victorian homes and much more in a three-hour tour beginning at noon. The meet-up location is at Triangle Pharmacy at Jamaica Ave. and Lefferts Blvd., two blocks west of the 121st Street station on the J train. Admission is $15 for Greater Astoria Historical Society members and $20 to the public. The 8th annual Rockstock and Barrels Festival will take place rain or shine at Beach 90’s boardwalk. The event starts at 10 a.m. and lasts all day. The nearest subway to the boardwalk is the A and S. The nearest bus is to take the Q22 or Q52 to Beach 92 or the Q53 to Beach 96. Playing on the main stage will be Matthew Kiss, The Wordy Burns, The King’s Heartbeat, Symptom, Ethoscope, Kilzone, Shipwrecks and more! Come to the “Forest Park Rock Fest II” at the Forest Park Bandshell from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be featured performances from Small Craft Warning, VooDoo Daddy, Missing Maddox and The Boom Section. The Bandshell is just off Woodhaven Blvd. The American Jewish World Service and The Reform Temple of Forest Hills present a free fi lm screening and discussion featuring the award-winning fi lm “Call Me Kuchu” and presentation by Ken* (a pseudonym for safety).
