Cops discovered Alexis Anderson with a gunshot wound to the head inside a residence on 106th Road near 180th Street at about 11:45 p.m. on June 18 and she was pronounced dead at the scene, offi cials said. Police previously said the residence, which is abandoned, was a squatter location that was also used as a drug den. Amin Abdullah, 20, was taken into custody on June 19 and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. The arrest came after the medical examiner deemed Anderson’s death a homicide. According to Brown, a witness saw Abdullah and Anderson get into a verbal argument on Wednesday in front of a room on the second fl oor of the 177-38 106th Rd. residence. The witness, who then went to a separate room, said between 11 and 11:43 p.m. the witness heard a noise that sounded like a pop. Abdullah then allegedly went into the witness’s room and together with the witness went back to the front room where the witness saw Anderson laying on the fl oor with what appeared to be blood on her head, Brown said. According to the district attorney, Abdullah allegedly fi rst told detectives that Anderson shot herself but later admitted he had shot her in the head with a revolver. If convicted, Abdullah faces up to 25 years to life in prison. 104TH PRECINCT Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village and Maspeth Worker killed by sanitation truck A sanitation worker died after a coworker smashed into him with a street sweeper, according to police. The collision happened at the Sanitation Depot on 48th Street in Maspeth around 1 p.m. on June 21. Steven Frosch, 43, was working on a street sweeper when another sanitation worker, 33, hit him with a street sweeper and pinned Frosch between the two large vehicles, offi cials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. “We are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one of New York’s strongest today while on the job in service of our city,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement, responding to the news. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Steven Frosch’s family — especially his wife and four children — as well as his friends and fellow sanitation workers.” Frosch had been with the Department of Sanitation since 1999. Photo courtesy of Department of Sanitation 105TH PRECINCT Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, Rosedale, Springfi eld Gardens, Bellerose, Glen Oaks, New Hyde Park and Floral Park Man kills brother, wounds mother in Springfi eld Gardens stabbing: cops A 27-year-old man killed his brother and injured his mother in a stabbing at their Springfi eld Gardens home before turning the knife on himself, according to police. The incident happened about 6:40 p.m. on June 18 during a dispute at the family’s residence on 176th Street near Farmers Boulevard, offi cials said. Cops said the suspect, Tony Glover, fi rst stabbed his 46-year-old mother several times in the torso, then stabbed his brother, 25-year-old Victor Johnson, in the torso. He then stabbed himself in the leg. The two victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where Johnson was pronounced dead and his mother was listed in stable condition, offi cials said. Glover was placed in police custody and also taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. He was later charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to cops. 108TH PRECINCT Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside Man dies after being punched in Woodside A 56-year-old man has died after a stranger punched him in the face in an apparently unprovoked attack on a Woodside street, cops said. The assault happened just after midnight on June 21 on Roosevelt Avenue near 69th Street, according to police. Police describe the man who they are looking to question in connection to the attack as Hispanic, in his midtwenties and with facial hair. They have also released a photo of him, and said he was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a dark-colored baseball cap. Cops are looking to identify a man caught on fi lm during a May 8 burglary near 14th Avenue and 124th Street. During the burglaries, the man broke into residential locations and stole items that included jewelry, electronics and money, mostly during daylight hours, police said. In one incident on May 25, $3,000 in Chinese currency was taken, cops said. The suspect is described as about 25 to 40 years old and 170 to 180 pounds. Photo courtesy of NYPD 110TH PRECINCT Corona and Elmhurst Police identify suspect who shot at cops in Elmhurst The NYPD has identifi ed a man who allegedly fi red shots at cops in Elmhurst. A sergeant and police offi cer, both in uniform and in a marked police car, were responding to a trespassing call around 1:50 a.m. on June 21 when they saw a man chasing another man and fi ring shots at him at Lamont Avenue and Forley Street, offi cials said. The cops jumped from their car and ordered the man to drop the gun, but instead he turned on them, raised the weapon and shot at them, police said. The offi cers returned fi re, but no one was hit in the exchange. When the suspect fl ed, he left behind a .22 caliber pistol, according to cops. Police have named Cristian Mosquera, 20, as a suspect in the shooting incident, and describe him as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds. There is a $12,000 combined reward leading to an arrest and conviction, according to the NYPD.
