Austin’s Ale House 82-70 Austin Street • Kew Gardens 718-849-3939 ADVERTORIAL BOURBON STREET ADDS A NEW CHEF IN THE KITCHEN, PLUS NOTABLE BREWS TO THEIR SIZZLING BAR SCENE IN EASTERN QUEENS With the New York food media currently focused on the booming culinary arenas in Queens, there is an area of Eastern Queens that deserves much attention for upholding their role in this ever- changing scene. The location is on Bell Boulevard in Bayside, which is part of Queens’ most upscale and desirable neighborhoods. It’s here where you will find Bourbon Street, a cornerstone restaurant and hot spot for almost two decades, serving up consistently good food, spirits and craft beers, while providing excellent service in their white table clothed dining room. The new Executive Chef, Frank Lynch, is the leader of Bourbon Street’s culinary team. Originally from the winter-haven town of Stowe, Vermont, Frank knew at a young age that interaction with food would launch his creative passions. It was over his seven year run at Top Notch Restaurant in Stowe, under the guidance of his mentor and “culinary father”, which molded that passion and provided a segue way into a previous post at the posh Montauk Yacht Club on Long Island’s East End. According to Chef Frank, “It’s danger that gives the illusion of adventure and that’s what makes my food so creative. Cooking is fun for me and continually drives me to new challenges”. “Food and its flavors are what all blends together on the plates here at Bourbon Street...it’s my artistry behind the knife”. Chef Frank’s signature dishes include Jack Daniels Braised Short Ribs, BBQ Cowboy Shrimp over Cheesy Grits, Duck Confit Fries with Lager Poutine and Sunny Side Eggs, crispy Goat Cheese with Beet Jelly atop Baby Arugula and are popular to the delight of Bourbon Street’s customers. All Desserts are made in house and feature classics like Southern Pecan Pie, Bananas Foster and a Flourless Chocolate Cake. There are specials every night of the week featuring a New York Strip Steak and Ale on Mondays, a New Orleans Clambake on Tuesdays and a Cajun Smoked BBQ on Wednesday. To satisfy the steady bar crowd, Bourbon Street offers fourteen selections of drafts, including notable favorites such as Dogfish Left to right: Crispy Goat Cheese Atop Beet Jelly and Arugula; Escolar with Avocado, Tomato Lime Relish; Jack Daniels Glazed Short Rib. Left to right: Lobster Slider on Homemade Pretzel Bun; Cowboy Shrimp, Cheesy Grits; Homemade Flourless Chocolate Cake. Head 60 Minute IPA, Shocktop’s Belgian White, Goose Island IPA and Franzikaner Weiss beers. And the culinary delights do not end in the dining room, with the bar serving up Lemon Pepper Lobster Sliders stuffed in homemade Pretzel Buns, BBQ Shrimp and Beef, Pulled Pork or Fried Chicken Sliders. Happy Hour at the bar is Monday-Friday from 4pm-7pm with Ladies Night Out on Tuesdays. Bourbon Street’s philosophy is to provide their customers with a menu selection of Cajun American cuisine, along with the latest brews and specialty cocktails served up in a warm and inviting Louisiana Bayou inspired setting . Spoiler alert: Watch for the addition of a new rooftop lounge slated to open, which will serve up breezy Summer cocktails and feature a Seafood Raw Bar and Cajun Sushi. Address: 40-12 Bell Boulevard, Bayside, NY 11361 (just opposite the Bayside LIRR) Website: www.bourbonstreetny.com ADVERTORIAL Executive Chef, Frank Lynch
