ISABELLA My name is Isabella and I am going into the second grade at P.S. 122 in Astoria. My favorite things to do are reading, writing and drawing. I love to write poems, songs and stories about my family and what I feel. I really love doing this job and I’m very happy and proud to write for everybody. Summer Reading Plans BY ISABELLA TAXILAGA When we are at school teachers send us home with books every day to read. These books are chosen by our reading level (from A-Z). We want to move up in levels and keep going until the next grade. The only way to keep moving up is to Keep Reading! So the best idea is to read in summer; not all days but some days. Read books that you really love or books that make you laugh. Now let me tell you my plans: 1. Sit under a tree and read 2. On an airplane ride/airport 3. In the air-conditioned library 4. The park/Central Park or Astoria Park or a nearby park 5. The beach (under an umbrella of course) 6. In bed/bedroom 7. At night 8. Read to someone (a younger relative or an older relative) 9. Most important read with someone wherever you go! You could also search on the internet “summer reading lists” for books that are just right for you and make your summer reading plans! Now you know all my summer reading plans, what are YOUR reading plans? st of the 2013 THE QUEENS QueensCourier.com Place SUCCESS ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOLS — NYC is applying to open new public charter schools in Queens.
