The 42-year-old victim was attempting to enter an elevator inside of the station at 12:40 p.m. on May 24 when she was approached by the suspects who tried to take her cell phone, said police. A struggle took place and the suspects fled without any property. The suspects are described as black females ages 16 to 18. 108TH PRECINCT LIC, Sunnyside, Woodside Straphanger wanted for punching woman on E train A woman was allegedly punched in the face and elbowed after she told a man to stop touching her leg on a Queens subway train. Police are now looking for the person who assaulted her. The incident happened aboard a Manhattan-bound E train near the Court Square-23rd Street station at 7:50 a.m. on May 30, said the NYPD. After the suspect assaulted the 46-year-old victim, he detrained and fled at that stop. The victim received bruising to her face and refused medical attention at the scene, said police. The suspect is described as black, 40 to 50 years old, 6′ tall, 200 to 210 pounds and having an accent. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 109TH PRECINCT Downtown Flushing, East Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Help reunite dog with family This dog was taken during a burglary, for which the 109th Precinct made an arrest. Police believe the woman who was walking the canine around 192nd Street and Crocheron Avenue did not know it was stolen. Police are trying to reunite it with its rightful owners. Suspect steals $90,000 in Flushing vehicle break-in The NYPD is looking for an individual wanted for taking thousands in cash from a vehicle in Flushing. Around 10 a.m. on Monday, June 10 on Crocheron Avenue near 162nd Street the suspect broke the driver’s side window of the vehicle and removed a plastic bag containing approximately $90,000, said police. Council president Jack Fried commended the work they did “not only for the precinct council, but for the precinct and for the community as well.” “These people demonstrate every day that they are the most committed and dedicated among the force,” said Captain Jason Huerta. Officer Evan Ostrofsky was honored as Police Officer of the Year. Huerta called his service “instrumental in the apprehension of violent criminals in countless crimes.” In his short time so far with the precinct, Ostrofsky has made 168 arrests, including a recent bust that recovered large amounts of heroin, powdered ecstasy, OxyContin and drug-packaging materials, according to Huerta. The award for Detective of the Year went to Vincent Gannon. In his 14-year tenure with the precinct, Gannon, who joined the detective squad in 2006, has amassed over 400 arrests. Domestic Violence Sergeant Alicia Manzer was awarded Police Supervisor of the Year. Huerta called the job “by far one of the most challenging positions in the precinct.” Jordan Tozitsky won Auxiliary Police Officer of the Year. “The NYPD and 111th Precinct simply could not function without the work of our auxiliary police officers,” Huerta said. Awards for Explorer of the Year and Civilian Employee of the Year went to Bayside High School freshman Natasha Valentin and Barbara Rothman, respectively.
