Teaching Boys 60 THE QUEENS COURIER • CATHOLIC SCHOOL • JANUARY 22, 2015 FOR BREAKING NEWS VISIT www.queenscourier.com Teaching Boys. Holy Cross knows boys. We understand how they think, what motivates them, what concerns them, and what they need to succeed in academics and in life. Sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross, our school welcomes students of all faiths, from every background. We are part of a 160-year tradition of Catholic education in the United States begun at the University of Notre Dame. At Holy Cross High School students are free to discover and develop their own intellectual, religious, ethical, athletic, creative and leadership abilities, in smaller classes, under the guidance of teachers and mentors who specialize in educating adolescent boys. Our personalized approach ensures that no one falls through the cracks. Everybody knows your name, and at the end of the day, it’s about how we have cared for one another that counts the most. All courses at Holy Cross are college preparatory and all students graduate with a Regents Diploma. Our boys are placed in classes which seek to challenge them at a level of difficulty commensurate with their abilities, keeping a keen eye on their potential. We offer a wide range of innovative electives and extracurricular activities, many implemented based on feedback from students themselves. At Holy Cross it is not only the destination that counts, but making sure our boys have plenty of opportunities around them to enjoy the journey while realizing their dreams and achieving their goals. It is about family, brotherhood, and making bonds that last a lifetime.
