Over 50 students, who will be enrolled at the high school in Middle Village from 2015 to 2019, will be recipients of the scholarship money. “The board is pleased by the outstanding response we have received from our local feeder schools and would like to congratulate all the parents, principals, faculty and staff for their outstanding job in providing a quality education to all our incoming freshmen,” said Thomas Ognibene, chairman of the scholarship committee. “Christ the King will endeavor to continue that outstanding educational process during the students’ four-year experience at Christ the King High School.” The school will be giving $722,000 in academic scholarships to the incoming class. This money was given out to students based on their grades in elementary school and Test for Admission into Catholic High School (TACHS) exam. Christ the King has also awarded $474,000 through the Christ the King Continuing Education Catholic School Loyalty Program. This was given to students who performed within the scholarship requirements and went to Catholic elementary school, thus continuing their religious education in high school. These soon-to-be-freshmen were awarded between $1,500 and $2,000 each.
