THE QUEENS MUSEUM OF ART New York City Building Flushing Meadows Corona Park Queens, NY 11368-3398 www.queensmuseum.org On Saturday, November 2, the Queens Museum and Immigrant Movement International will be honoring those who are no longer with us due to unjust immigration laws. The event will recreate Day of the Dead traditions from various Latin American cultures with hopes of making a change in immigration reform. There will be a gathering beginning at noon to build the altar using images and items that they invite participants to bring to memorialize their own loved ones who have been separated because of deportation or unjust immigration laws. At 5 p.m. the gathering will move to Immigrant Movement International and walk to Corona Plaza together. The ceremony at Corona Plaza will include breaking bread together and sharing stories of immigration to remember those who are absent.
