There’s Always TIME scape The summer flew by, but perhaps you’re in need of a little more vacation. Just a day or two away, not a terribly long drive, but something different, elegant and of course fun! On a hill overlooking the Hudson, the Time Hotel stands, and is ready to fill the bill. This four-month old property on the New York side of the River in Nyack is housed in a former plastics and metal factory and doesn’t have the most inviting façade. but just wait until you open the door! This off-beat–looking boutique hotel is dazzling. There is a huge lobby and reception area with wildly colored modern sofas and chairs, glass tables, wood floors and dynamite accessories. The decorator must have had a field day at Home Goods! Quirky candlesticks, unusual bowls, and avant-garde prints and paintings round out the décor. There are large loft style windows, exposed pipes and bare brick walls. The Time encompasses the latest trend, “Industrial Chic.” This 133-room hotel offers stunning loft style accommodations with fabulous beds and excellent quality linens, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, handsome carpets, a giant television and a sofa. The bathroom is large with tons of towels, and there is a coffee maker in the room. In addition, there is a sophisticated lounge, rooftop bar, business center, bar and pool deck, fitness center and bike rental program. Although the town of Nyack is a charmer with little bars, shops and delightful restaurants, we chose to dine at the hotel’s stunning restaurant, BV’s Grill. We weren’t disappointed! The food and service were extraordinary. The Oysters Rockefeller were delicious as was the crab cake and fried calamari. The Time salad with shrimp, green beans, tomato and pimento and the warm spinach salad were also marvelous. Loved both the Chilean Sea Bass and the Colorado Lamb Chops and found the sea scallops perfect as well. Desserts demanded a taste and a spoonful of tartufo was all I needed. The service was excellent and Brian the manager could not have been more helpful in picking out a fine house white Chardonnay Mer Soleil, which is now our favorite wine. The Time is the perfect getaway. It is close to everything and blends art and fine dining in a trendy, sophisticated atmosphere. As busy as you maybe find the time for TIME. Special prices are available during the opening months. The Time is located at 400 High Avenue, Nyack, and can be reached at 866-451-3547 or online at thetimehotels. com/nyack 48 North Shore Towers Courier n October 2016 Travelscape by Roberta Graff
