I am an independent person and my work and votes will be based on the best interests of all the shareholders. North Shore Towers is a wonderful community and I would like to use my experience to make it even better! 4 Phyllis Goldstein New Candidate Years in NST: 38 Occupation: Special Ed Teacher, New York City schools Over the years, there have been many changes at NST; I am proud that I have been involved with some of them. As chair of the Screening Committee for several years, I made the process more user friendly and helped in the enactment of the fee for the privilege of subletting. Our complex has always been a unique, premier community in this area. But we must reach out to an active population in order to keep our community vibrant. We must continue to upgrade. Two areas that have never been touched are the outdoor plaza (adjacent to the parking lot) and the outdoor pool. Both these areas are dated and damaged. We are entitled to have them redone, both for us as well as the visibility for our guests. Speaking of guests, we must address the lack of available parking. It is horrendous when friends and family can’t park out front. The first step is to analyze who is parking outside. I have always worked for the betterment of NST and would like to continue as a member of the Board. I would appreciate your support. 5 Fred Chernow Incumbent Years in NST: 6 Occupation: New York City school principal and professor, St. John’s University My first term on the NST Board of Directors has afforded me many opportunities to provide varied cultural experiences for my fellow residents. As head of the Screening Committee, I have made changes that streamline the process for applicants and help attract and accept a diversity of residents. We continue to recognize the potential earnings and intangible assets of applicants. This economic reality has contributed to the higher sales price our apartments bring. The column I write each month for the NST Courier where I highlight one of our residents, is quite popular. These profiles have been well received, and many apartment owners tell me how they have helped bring their neighbors a little closer. To make certain that these programs continue and are expanded I need for each of you to cast your vote for me. That’s the only way we can insure continuity and expansion. Make your voice heard by voting for Fred Chernow for the Board of Directors as soon as you get your ballot. 6 Pat Tulchin New Candidate Years at NST: 13 Occupation: Office Manager, International Company As president of the Ladies Golf Association and after serving on the Country Club board for five years, I have enjoyed working with the people here. I believe if you are part of a community, you should participate in that community. That’s why I’m running. Our success has created new problems. Past boards have accomplished a lot. But we are facing a new stage in our development at NSP and mnew blood on the board is essential now. Most important, I believe we need more facilities for younger people. Like “Field of Dreams,” I believe if we build, they will come. A playroom, a place for scooters and roller blades, things like that need to be built now. I want to see families come here and, those that are already here, need more reasons to stay. We can’t just tell them that we’ll do it in the future. It should be done now. Living at NST has provided me with a view of three generations because two of my children and my grandchild live here. Our needs may be different but we all enjoy this terrific lifestyle 7 Claire Levitan New Candidate Years in NST: 13 Occupation: Reading Specialist, New York City schools As a former member of the North Shore Towers Board of Directors, I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that I will work diligently, as I proved in the past, towards one simple goal: the betterment of our great community, of which I am one of its proudest members. In the very near future, you will be receiving a ballot to cast your vote for the candidates of your choice to serve on your Board of Directors. I believe that my prior Board experience, dedication to service and full understanding of what is required to get things accomplished from drawing board to completion, is worthy of your consideration when making your decision. It is my promise that I will only work on your behalf so that North Shore Towers may continue to flourish now and into the future. 8 Mario Carmiciano Incumbent Years at NST: 6 Occupation: Licensed Professional Engineer I remain very committed to preserving our co-operative in optimum condition to improve our quality of life and personal investments in the building. I have been chair of House of Grounds for the last two years and served on several NST committees, e.g. Capital Improvements, Towers Men’s Golf Association and the Country Club Committee’s I was recently recruited to oversee the improvements of the ventilation system in the VIP room, aerobics and gym areas.
