We at Schneps Media are pleased
to bring you the 2021 Long Island
Top Workplaces results, which
are the culmination of months of
surveying local businesses and
their employees.
Schneps Media, which publishes
the Long Island Press, Dan’s Papers,
and Noticia, has partnered
with Energage, a research company
that conducts Top Workplaces
surveys for media in 56 markets
and has surveyed more than 2
million employees at more than
7,000 organizations in the past
year. This is the fourth year of the
program running on Long Island;
it was previously operated by
Newsday.
Employers and employees in Nassau
or Suffolk counties nominated
companies in the competition, as
long as the workplace has more
than 50 employees. Employees at
nominated companies answered
two dozen questions in a survey via
LITopWorkplaces.com, where our
partners at Energage reviewed the
answers and ranked 57 businesses
on the results in three categories:
small, midsize and large.
Typically, companies that enter the
competition have achieved a level
of success in creating a positive
workplace culture but are looking
to improve. How has your workplace
embraced the challenge of
going remote during the pandemic?
Has communication suffered
or improved? For employers, the
competition was a chance to show
off the strides made in creating a
positive workplace culture and
attract new talent. For employees,
it’s an opportunity to sound off if
your company has fallen short of
creating camaraderie.
For many Long Islanders, the
term “workplace” has gotten a
reboot. A year ago, how many of
us knew how to use Zoom? Office
culture has changed profoundly
during Covid, and that’s why the
2021 Long Island Top Workplaces
competition was such a unique undertaking.
Not every organization
has been in a position to operate
remotely, especially healthcare
facilities and other essential organizations
that met the challenge
posed by the coronavirus by getting
their workplaces to new levels
of operations and efficiency.
So after months of research, the
results are in. We give you the results
of this year’s Long Island Top
Workplaces. Congratulations to
the winners and we hope you, the
reader, can gain some insight into
what these employers have implemented
to be Top Workplaces!
