Wave Hill is full of harmony this
week—from a pre-Valentine’s Family
Art Project to birding to a live performance.

Trai!: Ride the Hudson River Line train

the day. Train departs from Grand
Central Terminal; free shuttle buses

9: Family Art Project: Love for
Woodland Friends: As we look ahead
to Valentine’s Day, take a cue from the
ways woodland animals care for their
families. Celebrate the ways we care for
each other by creating woodland creature
sock puppets or huggable heating
pads for those you want to extend
care to. Use rice, plant medicine, and
essential oils to stuff socks that can be
heated or chilled to gift, soothing away
the stresses of your loved ones. Free,
and admission to the grounds is free
until noon. Wave Hill House, 10 a.m.
to 1 p.m.
Sunday, February 9: Winter Birding:
The Hudson River valley hosts an
impressive diversity of bird species,
even during the winter months. Explore
Wave Hill’s tranquil gardens and
woodlands with naturalist Gabriel
Willow to observe birds in their winter
habitats. Birders of all levels welcome.
Ages 10 and older welcome with
an adult. Severe weather cancels. NYC

admission to the grounds. Meet at Perkins
Visitor Center, 9:30 a.m.
Sunday, February 9: Concert: Queen
Esther: Imported from Charleston, SC,
and Atlanta respectively, vocalist,
songwriter, musician and producer
Queen Esther delves into her Lowcountry
childhood and harmelodic tendencies
to forge a sonic path that melds
roots rock, country gospel and twang,
creating original songs and reigniting
obscure tunes. Concerts begin at 2PM
and last approximately one hour with
no intermission. Ticket prices (including
admission to the grounds): Adults:
$30 at the door/$14 at the door for children
ages 8-18. Purchase your tickets
