BP DIAZ, FRESHDIRECT AND CITY
HARVEST DISTRIBUTE TURKEYS
On Monday, November 25, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., FreshDirect and City Harvest
collaborated to distribute Thanksgiving turkeys, food and water to Bronx residents. The
food distribution took place at Mott Haven Bar & Grill and consisted of 500 Thanksgiving
boxes with food including stuffi ng, cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, acorn squash and
sweet potatoes.

J&S CARING FOOD PANTRY HOLDS FOOD GIVEAWAY
On the eve of Thanksgiving, J&S Caring Food Pantry volunteers, along with the assistance
of the 41st Precinct Auxiliary, Patrol Borough Bronx and Parkchester Department of Public
Safety, cooked delicacies for families at the Morris Help Shelter. The sixth annual food
giveaway, which was organized by J&S Caring Food Pantry founders Jennifer Garib and
Savitri McCrea, included dishes such as fried rice, Mac n’ Cheese, roasted chicken and turkey,
homemade bagel stuffi ng, sauteed mixed vegetables, baked sweet potato, pastries and
Guyanese-style rice and beans. A short run was held at midnight following the giveaway.
Members of the 41st Precinct Auxiliary, Patrol Borough Bronx and Parkchester Department
of Public Safety joined J&S Caring Food Pantry for the food giveaway.

REYES, BLAKE HOST TURKEY GIVEAWAY
Last week, Assemblymembers Karines Reyes and Michael Blake held a Thanksgiving turkey
giveaway event, where they distributed vouchers for free turkeys to more than 100 Castle
Hill residents and families. The turkey vouchers were provided by Fresh Direct, while City
Harvest provided boxes of other pantry staples. Juniors at Equality Charter High School
helped also distribute the food.
