With cooler fall days ahead, you
probably want to soak up the
last warm rays with a fruity
drink in hand. Now, there’s
space specifically curated for
enjoying the sunny months in
western Queens. With ample
and cozy seating, lawn games, string lights
and live music, the hangout is perfectly
named The Courtyard.
The new outdoor pop-up opened its
doors this August in the backyard of the
historic Paper Factory Hotel, which has
been around since 1925, first as the original
Pilot Radio Company. Around 1965, a
new owner took over and made it into a
paper factory, hence the name. Now, it’s
a trendy and industrial hideout overlooking
the skyline and the majority of LIC
and Astoria.
The Courtyard is just the first offering at
the Paper Factory location by The Collective,
a global network of co-living spaces
made to host cultural programming and
