What are your neighbors passionate about? You might be
surprised! We asked our readers to share their hobbies with
us via Instagram, and we discovered that western Queens
residents’ pastimes ranged from geocaching to playing
the piano. Locals collect everything from vinyl to figurines
to dolls. One man spends his leisure time on papercraft,
assembling an impressive recreation of the Globe Theatre from 100
hand-cut pieces. Queens kids have found great ways to spend their
downtime, too: one tested his entrepreneurial skills with a lemonade
stand, while another joined her parents for kayaking at the Long Island
City Community Boathouse. Here are some of our favorite submissions.
