SHOPS LOCKWOOD Jackson Heights Mackenzi Farquer hasn’t yet figured out the trick to cloning herself, but somehow she seems to be doing just fine—one might even say she’s doing incredibly well. The recently married entrepreneur who founded the blog We Heart Astoria just opened her third store on Aug. 27, this time in Jackson Heights. The 900-square-foot space at 77-13 37th Ave. is nestled right on the neighborhood’s parade route. “This is exactly the kind of store I love to see opening up in this neighborhood,” said local resident Dan Cronin who was there checking out the goods on opening day. The store features all of Lockwood’s signature gifts, glassware, home furnishings, children’s clothing and toys. “This is the first time we have had a whole wall devoted just to specialty cards,” Farquer said. “We have worked really hard to feature local artists.” Plan to spend more time than you might anticipate, as the shelves are jam-packed with unique items that will catch your eye. Here are just a handful of the things that grabbed us on our inaugural visit. 6 | BOROMAG.COM | SEPTEMBER \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\2015
