The Staff Chris Carlsen (Owner) Chris is a former Division 1 athlete, Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Somatic Exercise Coach (SEC) and StrongFirst (SFG) kettlebell instructor. Chris owes a huge part of his athletic and career success to Pavel and Gray Cook. Learning and studying from the pioneers in strength and movement has filled his life with great knowledge and purpose. This knowledge has given him the ability to help many people live a stronger and healthier life. Frank Dufy Frank is a certified personal trainer through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and nutrition from CUNY Queens College. He is a Precision Nutrition Coach (PN1) and Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms). Previously, Frank joined the team at Cressey Sports Performance in Hudson, Massachusetts, where he trained professional, collegiate and high school baseball players. With varied exposure to upper extremity injuries, Frank understands the importance of proper movement patterns and how they carry over to the playing field. Hayley Bridgewater Hayley is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a StrongFirst (SFG) kettlebell instructor, and a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms). She is a Precision Nutrition Coach (PN1), a Somatic Exercise Coach (SEC), and was in the premier class of Certified Wreckbag Trainers. Hayley found her way into the strength training field through a long career performing and teaching dance and gymnastics, giving her special interest in endurance athletics. When not in the gym, she immerses herself in the community that she loves, as a staff writer for BORO Magazine, and is a grateful member of the “Sleep No More”/McKittrick Hotel family. Tim Garkusha Tim is an International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) certified personal trainer. He has earned certifications as a kettlebell (SFG1) and barbell (SFL) instructor from the prestigious Strong- First organization. Additionally, he is a certified nutrition coach through Precision Nutrition, a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), as well as a Somatic Exercise Coach (SEC) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS). What ultimately distinguishes Tim from other trainers is his realization that in order to be physically strong, one must be mentally strong as well. In his eyes, fitness means more than simply getting into shape; it is a humbling, lifelong process of bettering oneself daily. Tim continues to research and study many types of functional training modalities and looks forward to helping you take an individualized approach to discovering what “strength” means to you.
