“Make it fun!” Strautmanis said. “We have a
lot of games around; it can be fun. It can be fun
to be funny.”
She’s hoping to help others do the same.
“We pay so much for rent. You spend a third
of your life asleep in a place; it should be good,”
Strautmanis said. “I consult my friends on their
apartments, I’ll see a space and I’ll get it.”
She just started an Instagram account,
@alexafixmyapt, to bring this vision to light.
“People can decorate without having a lot of
money; it’s just thoughtful space design,” she
said. “Right now it’s just for fun, but maybe one
day I'll turn it into a business. Just to get good
furniture out of rich people’s houses and into
people’s apartments who can’t afford it. Like
the Robin Hood of interior design!”
