Our local parks and playgrounds are bursting with picnickers,
children and pups; restaurant-goers are once again spilling
out onto sidewalk cafés and eateries’ backyards; and the ice
cream truck is playing its jingle as it drives down the street.
That’s right: spring is here, and flowers are brightening up the
sidewalks and green spaces of western Queens. To celebrate,
we asked our readers to tag us (@boromagazine) in their Instagrams
of flowers in Astoria, Long Island City and Sunnyside. You sent a snap
of schoolchildren’s paintings of flowers, a proud selfie by a freshly
tended garden, a canopy of cherry blossoms over the Manhattan
