If your New Year’s resolution is to cook more
in less time, meet Astorian Jeffrey Eisner
Recently I had friends over for a
dinner called “Instant Pot Shabbat”
as an excuse to use my new
kitchen appliance. They gathered
around, wondering not only how
it worked, but if having their own
Instant Pot would be the push
they needed to start cooking themselves.
I’d only made one dish, so I wasn’t sure yet.
But then I met longtime Astoria resident
Jeffrey Eisner, who built an online following
of nearly 700,000 by posting how-to video
recipes for Instant Pot owners under his
brand, Pressure Luck Cooking. Last year, he
showed off some of his recipes on “Good
Morning America” and the “Rachael Ray
Show.” He finished off 2019 by competing
on the Food Network’s “Ultimate Hanukkah
Challenge,” which aired on Dec. 21. Eisner
cooked holiday classics like latkes and
doughnuts on the show and made it to the
top three.
Eisner told me the Instant Pot is the only appliance
anyone needs, especially in this city.
