A Moving Tribute
If you’ve been binge-watching Netflix
while cozied up in your apartment this
winter, you’ve probably seen the buzzworthy
feature film “Marriage Story” —
and if you haven’t seen it yet, Astoria’s
own Museum of the Moving Image
(MoMI) thinks it should be on your towatch
list.
MoMI honored “Marriage Story” and its
director Noah Baumbach with the Moving
Image Award at its gala benefit event
on Dec. 11. The evening, hosted at the
museum itself, was also attended by one
of the film’s stars, Laura Dern.
The drama is centered on the
disintegration of a couple, played by Adam
Driver and Scarlett Johansson. Baumbach
deftly shifts between the partners’ points
of view, painting a nuanced picture of their
divorce, spearheaded by their lawyers
(Dern and Ray Liotta).
