on opening day.

The TWA Hotel "Fishbowl" as it was called back in the day, alive with
opening day visitors with the Connie airplane situated just outside
the sunken lounge.

Disneyland like feel,
a totally refurbished
Lockheed Constellation
“ Connie” plane was
hardstand on the “tarmac”
created especially
for this Hotel.
The original aircraft
interior was gutted
and replaced by a an
open space to be used
as a lounge, gathering
space or special venue
by any one wishing to
relive the golden days of
travel.
The 550 hotel rooms
are reached by the original
long red-carpeted
tunnels from the Jet-
Blue terminal that were
featured in the movie “
Catch me if you Can”.
Only, unlike the movie,
there is a new hotel
topped by a magnificent
roof top infinity pool
and outdoor bar.
Those wishing to
take a room, can spend
the night or luxuriate
with a the day rate
resting between international
flights, will
find the hotel a quick
Airtrain ride to any
other terminal at the
airport.
A favorite spot
is destined to be the
“Fishbowl” named after
the effect the huge
windows have peering
into the sunken red carpeted
lounge. Here one
can watch the Solari
board simulate international
arrivals and departures
as well as the
Connie while sipping
world-class cocktails
and snacks.
