Tammy Card Gasser, passed at the
age of 83.
Ernst served in the Air Force,
worked Sabena in JFK and retired
from Amerford Air Cargo.

Sanderson. Due to Covid the airport run was cancelled but plans already in the
works for returning to the normal JFK Airport event in 2022.

On the Wings of Excellence
The 1st Qtr. 2021 WE SOAR Awards were held for both La Guardia and
Newark airports. WE SOAR stands for (W) Welcome, (E) Exceed, (S)Seek
to connect, (O)Own it, (A) Approachable, (R) Respect.
When airport workers put into practice these attributes and nominated
by co-workers, they are eligible for this award.
According to EWR Deputy GM Sarah McKeon, “This is a great way to
get feedback to our mission as a world class operator with the highest in
staff courtesy. “ GM James Gill said, “ We broke new records of excellence
since the start of Covid. This is always a great event. We look forward to
positive things and growth,”
Anyone can nominate another employee for a job well done. Often the
winners are
friendly, attentive and helpful to the airport travelers. If chosen, based

JFKIAT launches Covid relief fund
Raises $230K for Queens community
JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal
4 at JFK Airport, today announced
that, along with a number
of its partners, it has raised $230K
to aid the Queens community as it
continues to grapple with the economic
impacts of the COVID-19
pandemic. Through its corporate
giving program, 4GOOD, JFKIAT
and its partners created a fund that
awards resources to several community
organizations that have
continued to support Queens residents
and businesses for the past
year.
The fund will provide one-time
donations to several local organizations
that provide community support,
local business support, and
education, which are among the
key pillars of its 4GOOD program.
The organizations were selected
through an application process, in
which they specified programs and
initiatives geared to helping those
most impacted by the pandemic.

grants on May 13. for runway and
taxiway improvements as followws:

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s
Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) announced the
award of more than $898.9 million
in infrastructure and safety projects
through the FY2021 Airport
Improvement Program (AIP). This
total includes $113.5 million in
American Rescue Plan Act funding
to award all grants at a 100-percent
federal share.
