Karen Kroeppel handles many responsibilities
as the director of sales and marketing for Sheltair.
Her passion for people and working hard can make it
look easy, but 27 years of experience can make even
the most daunting tasks look effortless.
Each day Kroeppel makes final decisions on
graphic design projects, meets with her sales team,
organizes community events, and meets with her
clients, just to name a few responsibilities. Her position
is centered on working with a great team and
reaching out to the public. Aside from the joy of being
in the aviation industry, her constant interaction
and support of her team and clients is certainly
a benefit to all that she does.
For Kroeppel, aside from her own accolades,
she gets a great amount of joy from watching members
of her team growing and striving to their potential.
“I enjoy working with a terrific team and watching
them grow and develop,” said Kroeppel. “Giving
them the tools to develop and explore all their
capabilities makes our department stronger and our
company stronger.”
Kroeppel was born and raised in South Florida
and earned her bachelor’s degree in public
relations from the University of Florida. She was
working on the entertainment side of public relations
before making a shift into customer service
and marketing. In 1994 she first became introduced
to the aviation industry after being
recruited for a general manager role with Signature
Flight Support in New York. It was a role
that she initially thought would be for a couple of
years before moving back home, but after experiencing
what the aviation industry has to offer,
she stayed in New York and continuously became
more successful.
With all that Kroeppel has accomplished, she is
often sought out for advice, especially those looking
toward the aviation industry.
“It’s always great to have successes,” said Kroeppel.
“I’ve been fortunate to see a lot of success for myself
and my team, and sometimes a failure or finding
out what you don’t want is just as important. You
learn so much about yourself and it takes you in a
whole different direction.”
