Doreen Danielson has always gravitated toward
work that is challenging and complicated and her
immense creativity has led her to many interesting
paths in her architecture career, like her role
as director of technical services for AVAirPros.
Danielson first moved from her South Florida
hometown in 2000 to New York City to begin an impressive
journey in a career in architecture. Since
then she has worked with big firms in the corporate
architecture industry before providing her
expertise as a consultant to airports in real estate
projects in aviation.
For Danielson, her interest in technical coordination
along with working with a large team has
always been one of her favorite aspects of her career.
“I’ve always worked with big firms on big projects,”
said Danielson. “I love the interaction; The
scale of the technical problems that come up are really
fascinating and complex. You get to work with
some of the best people in the industry and that’s
where my passion and love has always been.”
From a young age, Danielson had naturally artistic
inclinations. As she got older, she found ways
to pursue her talent by looking to architecture. In
high school, Danielson found a job working for an
architect and participated in precollege programs
in the summer. When it came time to attend college,
she moved to New York to attend Pratt Institute
to earn her bachelor’s degree in architecture.
Throughout college she took up work under the supervision

For Danielson, part of becoming successful
stems from a willingness to learn and in showing
true interest and dedication in one’s craft.
“I think it’s important to understand that it
takes time to build up your career,” said Danielson.
“You have to accept all the work that people
want to give you. No project is too small and if you
take everything and do it with passion and earnestness,
people notice and next thing you know
you’re responsible for big pieces.
