 Cardozo rolls over Monroe in Snowball Classic 
 Th  e Judges of Benjamin Cardozo High  
 School in Bayside had a strong showing  
 at the NYC Snowball Classic, hosted by  
 Francis Lewis High School last week. Th e  
 squad defeated Monroe High School by a  
 score of 69-53.

 Forest Hills girls open season with blowout win 
 Th  e Lady Rangers of Forest Hills High  
 School began their 2018-19 hoops campaign  
 with  a  fl ourish,  as  they  routed  
 Newtown High School on Dec. 5, 59-27. 
 Playing on their home court, Forest  
 Hills led just about every step of the way,  
 outscoring Newtown in all four quarters.  
 Th  e Lady Rangers took a 24-15 lead into  
 the locker room at the half, then went  
 back out and held Newtown to just two  
 points in the third quarter. 
 Forest Hills put up 20 points in the fi nal  
 quarter. Th  ree girls dominated the scoring  
 throughout the entire game: Arianna  
 Lopez with 30 points, Brianna Singh with  
 16 points and Taniya Macklin with 12  
 points. 
 Aft er getting the season off  to a good  
 start,  Forest  Hills  took  the  next  two  
 games, defeating Grover Cleveland 43-28  
 on Dec. 7 and Long Island City 45-42 on  
 Dec. 10.  
 Th  e undefeated Lady Rangers take their  
 act on the road on Dec. 14, when they  
 take on Franklin K. Lane Campus in  
 Woodhaven.
