A Bayside holiday celebration that’s out of this world
Th e force was strong at St. Mary’s
Children’s Hospital in Bayside on Dec.
9 as Star Wars characters helped spread
some holiday cheer to local children.
Th e characters traveled from a galaxy
far, far away to take part in the Holiday
Festival thrown by the hospital staff and
its many volunteers.
Heroes and villains united for a day, as
Darth Vader and Kylo Ren worked alongside
Princess Leia, Rey and other Jedis to
greet the young guests and distribute toys.
Beyond the Star Wars universe, Batman
and Santa Claus also showed up to help out.
Th e festival included all kinds of fun
activities for the children at the hospital,
including face painting, arts and craft s
and toy donations.
