Family fun on the Whitestone waterfront

On the fi rst day of autumn, hundreds of Whitestone residents enjoyed beautiful
weather and fun activities during the annual “Family Fun Day” hosted
by the 109th Precinct Community Council and the We Love Whitestone Civic
Association. The Sept. 22 event at Francis Lewis Park included free games and
rides for the kids as well as entertainment and food for everyone. Children also
got a chance to comb through a makeshift pumpkin patch and pick out a gourd
to take home. Among the guests of honor included local elected offi cials such
as Assemblyman Ed Braunstein and City Councilman Paul Vallone. Mr. Met also
took some time to greet guests.
