46 NOVEMBER 10, 2016 RIDGEWOOD TIMES WWW.QNS.COM Queens-native Olympian celebrated at 2016 USATF Black Tie & Sneakers Gala BY ANTHONY GIUDICE [email protected] @A_GIUDICEREPORT Track and fi eld athletes from all over the country came together at the Armory Track & Field Center in Manhattan on Nov. 3 to celebrate the 2016 USA Track & Field (USATF) Black Tie & Sneakers Gala, including Queens-native and gold medalist Dalilah Muhammad. Muhammad won gold in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The National Track & Field Hall of Fame Class of 2015 was inducted during last week’s gala event, while celebrating the stars of the 2016 Olympic Games. Proceeds from the gala go to the USATF Elite Athlete Mentorship Program — a new initiative that connects USATF Elite Athletes with business executives, career coaches and former athletes to prepare them for success aft er their athletic careers.
