A native of Yugoslavia, she immigrated to New York in 1950, where she met her husband Ferdinand. They lived in Ridgewood & Middle Village NY, part of the Gottscheer community until they moved to Colorado in 2005 to be closer to their daughter. She had a lifelong love of gardening, cooking, and animals. Sophie was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand of 61 years. She is survived by her daughter Katherine Velasco, her son-in-law Jim Velasco, her grandson Daniel, and her sister Trudy Hutter. A memorial mass was held in Boulder, CO. She will be interred in NY. h 3, 1925 October 30
