Community Board 5 will host a virtual public
hearing and forum during their monthly
board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The meeting’s agenda will include a public hearing
regarding the Fiscal Year 2022 Capital and
Expense Budget Needs of the City of New York as
it relates to the communities CB 5 serves — Ridgewood,
Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, and parts
of Woodside and Rego Park.
CB 5’s District Manager Gary Giordano states
that a capital budget item would usually relate to
construction needs such as sewers, roadway reconstruction,
physical improvement to parks, bridges
or other public construction requests.
He added that the budget would also include the
need for “more police offi cers, parks maintenance
staff , workers to maintain the city’s sewer and
water system, and other requests usually related
to personnel.”
The meeting’s public hearing will be followed by a
public forum where members of the community can
submit testimony on the public hearing’s discussion,
as well as reviews of current applications for liquor
licenses and building demolition notices.
The meeting will take place via Zoom at 7:30
p.m. It will be livestreamed via YouTube as well
