OBITUARIES
MIRELLA GARCIA died Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the age of 96.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Marcelino Garcia, loving
mother of Mireya Esperanza Hernandez, Jose Garcia and
the late Merida Quintana, cherished grandmother of Keyla, JJ
and Annarella, great-grandmother of Isabel, Amanda, Alicia,
Gabriella, Alessandra and Arisella and dearest sister and aunt.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, August 27 at Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth, followed by private cremation at
Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

JOAN E. BROWN died Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the age of 88.
She was the daughter of the late Anna (Bruderle) and Edward
Brown, sister of the late Paul and Lawrence Brown, sister-inlaw
Edith (Val) Private cremation was held Friday, August 21
at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

LUIS A. COLON died Saturday, Aug. 22, at the age of 76. He
was the beloved husband of Vilma Colon, beloved father of
Edgar Colon, Jeanette (Johnny) Barrios and Vilma Colon, cherished
grandfather of Jessica, Jasmin, Alyssa, Jason, Arianna,
Justin, Emme, Isabella and Anthony, dear brother of Luz Colon
and Cruz Colon Jr., and is also survived by many loving nieces,
nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered
Saturday, August 29 at Corpus Christi Church, followed by
cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under
the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.
