On behalf of the Staff and Board of Directors of The Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District and The
Ridgewood Local Development Corporation it is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Maureen
Walthers the former owner and publisher of the Ridgewood Times.
She promoted and kept the community abreast of the programs and projects of the Myrtle Avenue Business
Improvement District and Ridgewood Local Development Corporation for over 40 plus years. She was always there
to support our efforts.
Her accomplishments and efforts to make the Greater Ridgewood area
a better community will be sorely missed.

For the majority of her life, Maureen Walthers dedicated herself to
caring for and maintaining an interest in Ridgewood and the
surrounding communities. I was blessed to have known Maureen
and always admired her sharp wit and the detailed discussions
regarding issues in the community. Time would go by so quickly as
we conversed about the issues that concerned her readers. I will
miss Maureen, but thankfully I will forever have the memories of
those lively conversations with her. "
