Over 200 people enjoyed a buffet dinner and open bar to help host Billy Pappas celebrate the popular gathering place’s event. Sitting on the expansive outside patio, we were serenaded by eddie sessa who made us all believe that Frank Sinatra was in the room. I loved his romantic choices and as I looked around the patio all I saw were smiling faces! The food and setting made for a magical night. I have been transfixed by the power and achievement of the Olympians these last two weeks. Each athlete is breathtakingly spectacular. It’s hard even to conceive how much of each person’s life was devoted to being so superb in their field. I can only imagine the perseverance it took to achieve such greatness. I particularly adored the 4 foot 8 inch gymnast simone biles and her broad smile that lit up my TV! Although Michael Phelps and usain bolt were expected to make history, watching them made me hold my breath and cheer as if I were in the arena with them. What sweet memories! I adored how every race of people was represented and all shared their greatness. In real life, my two grandchildren celebrated the Olympics by participating in my co-op’s Olympic races. It was hysterical watching them swim a float across the pool then run on the beach with a spoon and ball held firmly then play Simon Says and musical chairs. Their smiling faces and joy warmed my heart as they clutched their trophies with the flag waving and “the star-spangled banner” playing on the loudspeaker. What a way to end the weekend. thin, thin BP eric adams when we met for lunch at Queen on Court street. He had shared with the community that he had been diagnosed with diabetes. When his doctors recommended a treatment plan of drugs, Eric resisted and did some research to find that the Cleveland Clinic had a different approach. He went to Ohio and they put him on a vegan diet. Within three months, he shed 25 pounds and his diabetes was GONE! His commitment and determination to his health is an inspiration to me. I know how hard it is to follow a new way to eat. Read more about his success in our newspapers. Seated: Claire Shulman, Debby Markel, Judge Marge McGowan, Mary Ann Mattone, Linda Desebato.
