According to cops, Michael Mann, 52, of Kosciuszko Street, approached his 27-year-old female victim, who was walking to her home, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16 in the vicinity of DeKalb and Bushwick avenues. Mann then displayed a knife, demanded the victim’s property and sexually assaulted her. Officers from the 83rd Precinct responded to the 911 call of the incident. Mann was later caught and arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 17, and charged with rape, robbery, a criminal sex act, sex abuse, menacing, forcible touching, criminal possession of a weapon, false personation and possession of a forged instrument, police announced. He was also charged with five counts of level 3 sexual predator for failure to appear for 90 day address verification, one count sex offender for failure to send annual verification and one count sex offender for failure to report change of address within 10 days. Knife-wielding man invades Woodhaven home Detectives continue to search for the robber who invaded a Woodhaven home last week, attacked a female resident and detained her in a closet while he stole her property. Police said the robbery occurred at 8:20 a.m. on Aug. 19 at a home in the vicinity of Forest Parkway and 85th Avenue. According to authorities, the perpetrator — described as a white male standing 6 foot 2 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds with black eyes and a light complexion while wearing blue jeans, a black skull cap and a white camouflage T-shirt — entered the home through an unlocked backyard door. Once inside, law enforcement sources noted, he confronted the 77-year-old female victim in her kitchen. He wrapped his arm around her neck, held a knife to her chest, escorted her to a second-floor bedroom and placed her in a closet. Police said the suspect then removed an assortment of jewelry and an unspecified amount of cash before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. Officers from the 102nd Precinct responded to the incident. The woman was not seriously injured.
