Acknowledgments
More than 90 years of the
Ridgewood Times’ history
is stored on more than 100
microfi lm reels. In creating this
special edition, we screened quite
a few of those reels to fi nd historic
front pages, headlines and stories
that haven’t been seen by the general
public in decades.
To do this, we used
a digital microfilm
reader at The Archives
at Queens Borough
Public Library’s Central
Branch in Jamaica
We’ve been
here for 110
years — and
we’ll be there
for the next
110 years
to come!
to view these reels and
download a treasure
trove of local history.
We are forever grateful
to Queens Library not
only for providing us
access to the reader, but also for their
daily services to the general public to
educate, inform and inspire millions
of residents all over the borough.
Additionally, we thank the Greater
Ridgewood Historical Society for
continuing to support our mission
through access to photos and other
materials from its archives.
We also want to acknowledge
the many people we profi led in this
special section, and the hard work
of reporters Jenna Bagcal, Emily
Davenport, Ryan Kelley and Suzanne
Monteverdi — who also produce incredible
stories on QNS.com read by
tens of thousands of people every day.
Thanks also go to our sales team
— including Liz Colicchio, Jill Aronson
Dickerson, Beverly Gutkin and
Warren Sussman — and
to Deborah Cusick and
Marlene Ruiz for coordinating
the sales eff ort.
Last, but certainly
not least, we thank the
readers and advertisers
who help the Ridgewood
Times continue its
mission to serve as the
Greater Ridgewood area’s
“paper of record.” Whether
you’ve been with us 60 days or 60
years, we cannot express enough just
how much your support means to us.
All of us at the Ridgewood Times
are there not only to report about
the community, but to support you.
We’ve been here for 110 years — and
we’ll be there for the next 110 years
to come!
